Fīhā Khayr | The Goodness We Don't Always See
There is a phrase many of us have whispered through tears, disappointment and uncertainty: فِيهَا خَيْرٌ — Fīhā Khayr. There is goodness in it. Not because the situation feels good. But because we trust that Allah's wisdom reaches further than our vision ever could.
There is a phrase many of us have whispered through tears, disappointment and uncertainty:
فِيهَا خَيْرٌ
Fīhā Khayr.
There is goodness in it.
Not because the situation feels good. Not because the pain isn't real. But because we trust that Allah's wisdom reaches further than our vision ever could.
At Rosebuds, we see this phrase come to life every single day.
We meet sisters who almost didn't attend an event because they felt anxious. Sisters who walked into a room knowing nobody, only to leave with lifelong friendships. We see women who arrive carrying silent burdens, believing they have to face them alone, only to discover that Allah had already prepared a room full of hearts ready to remind them that they are never alone.
Sometimes the greatest blessing isn't the answer we were making du'a for. Sometimes the blessing is the person Allah places beside us while we wait.
Community is also from Allah
We often think of rizq as wealth, careers or opportunities. But righteous companionship is also rizq. A reminder at exactly the right moment is rizq. A sister checking in after you've disappeared is rizq. A hug after months of pretending you're okay is rizq. A gathering where Allah is remembered is rizq.
These blessings rarely arrive with grand announcements. They often come quietly, disguised as an invitation, a conversation, or the courage to finally walk through a door.
Looking back, we understand.
When Rosebuds first began, we couldn't have imagined the journey ahead. There were moments of uncertainty. Moments where doors closed. Moments where plans changed. Moments where growth felt painfully slow. At the time, they felt like setbacks. Looking back, many of those moments became the very foundations of what Rosebuds is today.
The leader who said "yes" after someone else declined. The venue that unexpectedly fell through, leading us somewhere even better. The event with fewer attendees than expected, but where one conversation changed someone's life. Allah was writing a story we couldn't yet read.
How often is that true in our own lives?
Every sister has a story.
Behind every smile is a journey known only to Allah. Some sisters join Rosebuds after losing someone they love. Some after divorce. Some after becoming mothers and feeling isolated. Some after reverting to Islam. Some simply because they wanted to find women who would remind them of Allah.
Every story is different. Yet they all arrive carrying the same hope: "Ya Allah… let me find goodness here."
And SubhanAllah, they often do. Not because Rosebuds is perfect. But because Allah places barakah wherever people gather sincerely for His sake.
The goodness isn't always obvious.
Sometimes we ask Allah for ease, and He gives us strength. We ask for answers, and He teaches us patience. We ask for certainty, and He teaches us tawakkul. We ask for one door, and He opens another we never knew existed.
As Allah reminds us: "Perhaps you dislike something while it is good for you, and perhaps you love something while it is bad for you. Allah knows, while you do not know." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:216)
Our role isn't to understand every decree immediately. Our role is to trust the One who decreed it.
To the sister reading this…
If today feels heavy… If your plans haven't worked out… If you're questioning why something had to happen… Don't rush to call it the end of the story. Allah is still writing.
Perhaps your greatest blessing hasn't arrived yet. Perhaps the delay is protecting you. Perhaps the heartbreak is making space. Perhaps the closed door is guiding you towards one you never would have chosen yourself.
And perhaps, one day, you'll look back and smile through grateful tears as you whisper the words you once struggled to believe:
فِيهَا خَيْرٌ
There was goodness in it all along.
At Rosebuds, we've learned that some of life's greatest blessings begin with a single step through the door. A room full of strangers can become sisters. A difficult season can become someone's testimony. And a simple gathering for the sake of Allah can become the turning point in a person's life.
Because when hearts gather to remember Him, there is always goodness.
Fīhā Khayr. Always.
